Domestic Abuse Specialist

Black Country Women's Aid is a leading charity providing support services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and human trafficking. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Domestic Abuse Advocate to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Domestic Abuse Advocate will work closely with our Community Domestic Violence and Abuse Support Service to provide advocacy, support, and guidance to victims of domestic abuse. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advocacy and support to victims of domestic abuse, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Work in partnership with other services within BCWA and key agencies to ensure a comprehensive response to domestic abuse.
- Deliver community-based support services, including group work and one-to-one sessions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local agencies and organizations to promote the work of BCWA and enhance service delivery.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of services.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse and/or other vulnerable groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of local services and agencies supporting victims of domestic abuse.
