Job Title: Residential Childcare Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people in our care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to promote and support the young people in our care, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Provide emotional and social support to young people, helping them develop meaningful relationships and encouraging their involvement in local communities.
  • Encourage and enable each young person's self-esteem to be raised in a positive manner, ensuring they are respected and valued.
  • Support young people in making positive life choices and achieving levels of independence that help them reach their full potential.
  • Record and document events, observations, and progress, including young people's daily and monthly updates, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assess and review the needs of young people, working under the direction of your manager and other relevant personnel to formulate, implement, and review care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for young people.
  • Support young people with daily living needs, including meal planning, preparation, and domestic duties, in line with their individual care plans.
Required Attributes:
  • Ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive manner.
  • Self-motivation and a positive nature.
  • Sensitivity and reflectiveness.
  • Excellent listening and empathetic skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in the care sector or residential care.
  • Relevant qualification or commitment to undertake a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare.
  • Willingness to work some Bank Holidays.
