Position Overview

The Bright Beginnings initiative focuses on offering individualized assistance to at-risk young parents aged 17 to 25, empowering them to become effective caregivers and ensuring their children receive a strong foundation for future growth. As a volunteer in this program, you will be matched with young parents who are either expecting or have children under the age of two, and who may be experiencing isolation or lack of support from their families or other adult figures.

Your role will involve aiding these young parents in addressing various challenges, particularly those related to their health, parenting responsibilities, and their child's well-being. Key responsibilities include:

  • Encouraging the development of positive bonds with their unborn child or toddler
  • Assisting them in navigating health-related processes, meetings, and necessary documentation
  • Offering guidance on the physical care and nurturing of their child
  • Helping them access local community resources
  • Motivating them to utilize services that address their practical, emotional, and health-related needs

As a valued volunteer, you will be included in team meetings and organizational events, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.
