Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Residential Care Manager to lead our team at a Children's Residential Home. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for the young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to the team, ensuring that the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes National Minimum Standards and the Children Act 2004.
  2. Care Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each young person, ensuring that their rights and choices are respected and promoted.
  3. Staff Management and Development: Recruit, train, and develop a team of carers who are committed to providing high-quality care and support to the young people in our care.
  4. Quality Assurance and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and support provided, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure that the home meets the highest standards.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the home operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, identifying and mitigating risks to the young people, staff, and the organization.

Requirements:

  • Two years' experience in a residential care setting, with at least one year in a managerial capacity.
  • A Diploma in Social Work or NVQ Level 3 in children and young people.
  • A Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
  • Management and supervision experience.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including other agencies, users of the service, family, and members of the community.

Experience:

  • Child care in residential settings: 2 years (required).
