Job Title: Academic Human Resources Officer

HRLife is excited to support a growing client in finding their next talented HR Advisor. This role is ideal for someone with a couple of years' experience in HR who wants to learn, develop, and build experience in 'all things people' and support with project work alongside providing seamless lifecycle administration to employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on various people issues, including absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievances.
  2. Work with managers to upskill and coach them on having difficult conversations, educating them on processes and policies.
  3. Prepare reports and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvements.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures in line with current legislation.
  5. Coordinate and manage long-term absence, participate in meetings, and implement necessary adjustments.
  6. Oversee the payroll process, making relevant changes to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
  7. Take ownership of GDPR-related tasks and requests, adhering to legal requirements.
  8. Manage recruitment administration, ensuring a great candidate experience.
  9. Embed new initiatives around wellbeing and diversity and inclusion.
  10. Support the HR Manager in developing and implementing effective HR policies and practices that support the strategic growth of the business.
  11. Assist in strengthening reward and recognition programs, including reviewing current benefit packages to ensure the business remains competitive.
  12. Contribute to business-focused projects, such as retention, mental health, employee engagement, reward, and recognition.
  13. Own lifecycle administration, including onboarding, inductions, starters, and leavers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied role, can influence, and work closely with the business.

Ideal Background:
  • Minimum CIPD L3 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in dealing with ER cases, such as Grievance/Disciplinary hearings.
  • This role is hybrid, with 3 days a week in the office in North Surrey and 2 days at home.
