We are seeking a highly skilled Maths Curriculum Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Learning and Care Group. As a Maths Curriculum Specialist, you will have the opportunity to lead, manage, and develop tailored maths curriculums for our pupils.
Our pupils are neurodiverse, and we take an individual approach to each pupil's learning based on their own needs, goals, strengths, and aspirations. You will have the chance to promote maths in a positive way across the school, not just through teaching but through fun and inspiring learning experiences.
As a Maths Curriculum Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Leading classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning, particularly with 'your' class.
- Monitoring and recording progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes.
- Working closely with pupils to keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
- Working one-to-one with pupils or in small group settings to help them achieve their learning goals.
- Supporting team members with the delivery of maths across the school and having oversight of the subject as a whole.
To be a successful Maths Curriculum Specialist, you will need:
- An ability to teach maths to Level 2 (GCSE/Functional Skills).
- Patience, compassion, and resilience – our pupils may have neurodiverse needs that impact their learning behaviour and communication.
- Great communication skills – both verbal and written communication is essential in this role.
- A driving licence – we need you to drive our pupils to where they need to go.
- A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs.
In return for your time, you will get:
- Holidays – you will only work term time (39.2 weeks), and get paid the additional 12.8 weeks whilst you're off.
