About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maths Education Specialist to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As a Numeracy Development Lead, you will play a key role in developing and implementing tailored maths curriculums for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead classroom activities, including planning, teaching, and assessing learning, particularly with 'your' class.
  • Monitor and record progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes.
  • Work closely with pupils to keep them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
  • Support team members with delivery of maths across the school and have oversight of the subject as a whole.

Requirements:

  • An ability to teach maths to Level 2 (GCSE/Functional Skills).
  • Patience, compassion, and resilience – The pupils you teach will be neurodiverse, which can impact their learning behaviour and communication needs.
  • Great communication skills – Both verbal and written communication is important in this role as you'll be speaking to a lot of different people at different times.
  • A driving licence – Our pupils love to learn in a wide range of settings.
  • A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs.
