Lead Procurement Manager

Morrisons is seeking a Lead Procurement Manager to effectively oversee and direct departments to achieve organizational sales and profit objectives by strategizing, developing, sourcing, and negotiating competitively priced product assortments across all available channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying future opportunities and steering the long-term strategic vision for your categories.
- Establishing and ensuring the achievement of your team's margin and profitability goals for their categories, both now and in the future.
- Collaborating with essential stakeholders to address challenges and propel the business forward.
- Building strong relationships with Marketing and Trade Planning to ensure customer experiences are enhanced through effective trading space across the store.
- Recruiting, developing, and managing a team of Procurement Managers and Buyers to meet personal and business objectives.
- Fostering a collaborative culture to achieve optimal results.
- Continuously evaluating people, processes, and systems to ensure we provide the best value for our customers.
- Ensuring timely and complete delivery from my Category while consistently leading by example.
- Guiding your Procurement Team to develop and deliver the appropriate range at competitive prices in stores.
- Formulating a vision for the department's procurement strategy, planning a commercial product assortment that aligns with the company's brand values, sales, and profit targets.
- Supporting your team in creating strategic category plans and securing buy-in from the Leadership Team.
- Regularly assessing product merchandising in-store and its associated impacts, while visiting stores to gain valuable insights from customers and colleagues.
- Maximizing profitable sales growth and exploring market opportunities across various categories.
- Assuming ultimate responsibility for compliance with GSCOP, ensuring all team members are trained on and adhere to all GSCOP requirements and related internal policies.
- Leading your team to engage with Finance and Trade Planning to define and manage budgets for effective utilization and control.
- Taking a leadership role and serving as a point of escalation in challenging negotiations with suppliers to optimize value (including sales and profit) and operational efficiencies regarding product sourcing and availability for the long term.
- Developing, prioritizing, and executing the category strategy based on clear customer metrics to maximize sales and profit.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Lead Procurement Manager or Buying Manager in a comparable environment.
- Experience in managing teams effectively.
- A skilled negotiator, preferably with branded experience.
- Demonstrated success in delivering category strategies within a complex, competitive market.
- A strong customer focus with a history of prioritizing customer needs.
- Ability to operate swiftly in a dynamic and adaptable environment with drive, energy, and enthusiasm.
- Significant commercial acumen with a robust analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making background.
- Experience in building relationships at all levels to drive commercial advantages.
- Experience in implementing and advancing unified strategies in a complex business landscape.
