About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Sustainability Manager to lead our strategy for waste and recycling across all of Morrisons. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of procurement practices and a passion for sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive waste and recycling strategy that aligns with Morrisons' sustainability goals
  • Manage costs and income across all waste categories, including general waste, food waste, specialist/hazardous waste, card, and plastic
  • Drive waste mitigation and/or recycling solutions to support the business meet its Zero General Waste Target
  • Lead supplier relationship management and category management practices
  • Develop and implement commercial and contract drafting and negotiation strategies
  • Manage procurement projects and relationships with stakeholders at all levels

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced procurement professional with a strong track record of success in a similar role. You will have a deep understanding of procurement practices and a passion for sustainability. You will be able to define a clear strategy and execute it with the support of the team around you.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement and sustainability
  • Strong knowledge of industry and supplier base
  • Ability to evaluate, review and challenge business cases and complex commercial proposals
  • Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Driven, self-motivated and resilient
  • Track record of procurement within a large complex organization
