Investment Oversight Officer

The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee, document, and report on the performance of various investment portfolios and private equity holdings, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position supports the fiduciary obligations of the Standard Bank Group's business units, particularly in regions such as Jersey and Mauritius, facilitating effective investment management.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the main liaison for external investment monitoring entities, fostering collaboration with firms such as Enhance, MDI (Melville Douglas International), and IFS (International Funds Solutions).
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the investment strategies and performance metrics of leading asset management firms.
- Provide guidance to Trust Relationship Administrators regarding investment-related inquiries from Asset Managers, Wealth Managers, or Clients, ensuring clarity while adhering to a non-advisory stance.
- Stay informed about current financial market trends by participating in weekly investment meetings and maintaining regular communication with Treasury.
- Develop and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, particularly Trust Administrators and Wealth Managers.
- Ensure the accuracy of Nav system data for all non-real estate investments, which is essential for precise internal and external reporting.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
Experience:
3-4 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector is essential, with a preference for backgrounds in international fiduciary or investment services. Additional qualifications in Accounting, Trust, or Investments are advantageous.
