Long Haul Travel Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Long Haul Travel Specialist to join our team at C&M Travel Recruitment. As a Long Haul Travel Specialist, you will be responsible for creating bespoke, extraordinary experiences for our clients traveling to Asia, India, and Africa.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide expert advice on long haul travel options.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain rates and source product for tailor-made itineraries.
  • Use your specialist knowledge to support the conversion of enquiries into sales.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales and customer service journey, ensuring customers are notified of any operational changes affecting their holiday.
  • Handle customer issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring a satisfactory outcome.
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers via all channels.
  • Produce personalized documentation for every customer.
  • Support the product team with input and feedback on product knowledge, pricing information, and competitor analysis.
Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in a travel tailor-made sales role, with a background in tour operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Africa, preferably through own traveling and/or putting together bespoke itineraries. Knowledge of Asia/India would also be beneficial.
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a genuine desire to exceed customers' expectations.
  • Good knowledge of supplier contracts and costing itineraries.
  • Working knowledge of a travel GDS - Amadeus or Galileo preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible approach, with a proactive and creative approach to problem-solving.
What We Offer:
  • Basic salary of up to £28k (depending on experience) plus uncapped commission.
  • Fully home-based role, with all equipment provided.
  • 37-hour working week, currently 9 to 5 Monday to Friday and Saturdays 10 to 2 on a rota.
