Leiston, Suffolk, United Kingdom EDF Full time

Overview

Are you seeking a fulfilling career at the forefront of project execution where your contributions truly matter? The Sizewell C (SZC) initiative presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in one of the UK's most significant megaprojects, directly impacting the nation's climate strategy and energy framework. Following the achievements of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build endeavor in Suffolk, having secured planning authorization and governmental financial backing. The construction phase is underway, with private investment actively sought. Upon completion, this project will supply reliable electricity to 6 million households for 60 years, aiding Britain in its pursuit of Net Zero by 2050.

We are excited to announce a vacancy for an experienced Water & Foul Operations Lead to become part of our Enabling & Earth Works team at Sizewell C. This role may involve occasional travel to London. This is an opportune moment to contribute to a groundbreaking mega project.

Your direct reports will include the Foul & Drainage Project Manager, Desalination Plant Project Manager, and Potable Water Project Manager. You will manage relationships with various water stakeholders, including local water authorities and environmental agencies.

You will be the principal authority for all water-related operations, supporting utility diversions and connections.

Your role will encompass the strategic oversight and coordination of diverse technical and engineering processes, including resolving technical issues, ensuring safety, health, and environmental compliance, as well as utility design and construction.

You will supervise the design and implementation of all components necessary for the operation of the potable network, desalination facility, foul water treatment plants, and surface water systems for Sizewell C.

This position is crucial for risk management, change control, and upholding high standards of technical compliance for water installations, significantly contributing to the seamless advancement and efficiency of the Sizewell C project.

Our teams operate with flexibility, adopting a hybrid working model between our offices and remote work. We provide comprehensive IT resources to ensure our employees can work effectively from home.
