Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our Chief Digital Office at Social Security Scotland. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving business transformation and improving operational efficiency across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to build strong working relationships and gather business requirements through stakeholder analysis and management.
  • Support customers and stakeholders through transformational change programs, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Lead and deliver business analysis products for small to medium-sized initiatives, and support large and complex projects, in accordance with project requirements and overall business objectives.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver transformational change using Agile methodologies, ensuring seamless integration with other digital platforms.
  • Support and work closely with Senior Business Analysts during large and complex projects, to define an approach that meets both customer and business needs.
  • Deliver business analysis products and outputs in accordance with project requirements and overall business objectives, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Apply a range of techniques to establish and analyze the current state (as is) and future state (to be) of people, organization, processes, information, data, and technology across the business.
  • Identify, analyze, capture, and validate business and user requirements, ensuring accurate and comprehensive understanding of customer needs.
  • Identify and analyze options to deliver enhanced outcomes for citizens and organizations through the better use of technology, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Work together with Senior Business Analysts to support customers and stakeholders through transformational and change programs, ensuring successful implementation and adoption.
  • Support business users through investigation of system issues to provide workable solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Explain and be a persuasive advocate for the value of understanding and meeting user needs within the wider Social Security Scotland organization.
  • Actively participate in the Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Business Analysis practice events, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience of business analysis in an Agile/digital project environment to support the delivery of organizational visions and goals.
  • Experience of using business analysis tools and techniques to solve problems in small to medium Digital initiatives.
  • Experience of applying stakeholder management techniques that influence others to make key decisions within product or delivery teams.
  • Experience of working with other Digital professions to design and develop technical solutions to resolve business problems.
