Job Summary

The Christie NHS FT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in the Critical Care Unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nurses to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and that the unit runs smoothly.
  • Patient Care: Assess and prioritize the needs of critically ill patients and their families, providing individualized care and support.
  • Education and Development: Maintain and develop your own knowledge and skills, as well as those of the nursing team, to ensure that we are providing the best possible care to our patients.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of nurses, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and support to deliver high-quality care.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that care is coordinated and effective.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: RGN Level 1 or 2, Degree, Diploma, or equivalent in nursing studies, Post Registration certificate in critical care, and Mentorship course.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in a relevant specialty, leadership experience, and managerial experience.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of and lead a team, ability to work using own initiative, highly motivated and enthusiastic, and able to deliver a high quality of care.
  • Knowledge: Committed to own personal professional development and that of other staff members.

The Christie NHS FT is one of Europe's leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of millions across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist, around 15% of patients are referred to us from other parts of the country.
