The Deputy Chief of Staff for Technology will support the Technology Chief of Staff in delivering the strategic goals of Man Group, a leading global investment manager. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of a 500-person technology department, with a focus on business management, ITO operations and risk, and engineering enablement.
Key Responsibilities- Business Management: Oversee the day-to-day business management of the technology department, including event planning, communications, and reporting. Manage an annual budget of over $100m and lead the team in talent management and overseas office buildout.
- ITO Operations and Risk: Responsible for central support and incident management, managing operational risk, business continuity, and collaborating with the internal information security team to understand and manage cyber security concerns.
- Engineering Enablement: Help the engineering teams measure and improve delivery processes and productivity, and adoption of uniform standards.
The Deputy Chief of Staff will also collaborate closely with the Head of Strategy for Technology to share responsibility for the implementation of strategic priorities, including devising and driving technology strategy and transformation to maximise the impact of the technology function at Man Group.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a demonstrable track record of positive DE&I impact and lived experience of the challenges of building and delivering technology. Comfort with data-driven analysis and decision making, confidence in Excel and PowerPoint are essential. The role is based in London, with an expectation of 3 days per week in the office and occasional travel to other office locations.
