Deputy Chief of Staff

The Deputy Chief of Staff for Technology will play a critical role in supporting the Chief of Staff for Technology in delivering the strategic goals of the firm. This position will report to and deputise for the Technology Chief of Staff, overseeing the day-to-day management and operation of a 500-person technology department.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the team of Product Leads, subject matter experts who direct the resources of the department to produce optimum stakeholder outcomes.
- Oversee business management, including event planning, communications, and reporting, as well as overseas office buildout and general team and talent management.
- Be responsible for central support and incident management, managing operational risk, business continuity, and working with the internal information security team to understand and manage cyber security concerns.
- Help the engineering teams measure and improve delivery processes and productivity, and adoption of uniform standards.
- Share responsibility for the implementation of some strategic priorities, including devising and driving technology strategy and transformation to maximise the impact of the technology function at Man.
The successful candidate will have lived experience of the challenges of building and delivering technology, perhaps gained through coding or managing engineering teams in early career. They will be comfortable with data-driven analysis and decision-making, confident in Excel and PowerPoint, and have a demonstratable track record of positive DE&I impact.
They will prioritise the team and the firm's best interests and be prepared to turn their hand to whatever is needed to ensure the smooth running of the department. They will focus on the growth and career development of their team and have a strong understanding of the technology function at Man.
