Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our dynamic team focused on providing exceptional care for patients diagnosed with Lung Cancer. This role is pivotal in supporting our Nursing team to ensure a seamless and effective service for patients throughout their treatment journey and follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will assist the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team with various administrative tasks, including:

  • Managing incoming calls from both healthcare professionals and patients, effectively triaging these inquiries and directing them to the appropriate service or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Scheduling appointments and facilitating referrals as necessary.
  • Contributing to the implementation of the recovery package, which includes assisting the nursing team with holistic needs assessments and follow-up actions that do not require Clinical Nurse Specialist intervention.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist and helping to manage the associated workload.
  • Guiding patients to relevant support services while demonstrating empathy and understanding towards patients and their families.

As a member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist team, you will collaborate with various professionals within the multi-disciplinary team, referring patients to external agencies as needed and advising them on local support services.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a strong ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Experience in a customer or patient-facing role is essential, along with proficiency in data collection and the use of Excel spreadsheets.

Desirable Qualifications

Familiarity with medical terminology is an advantage.
