Position Overview
This role presents a unique opportunity to join a dedicated and passionate team focused on providing exceptional care for patients diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
The primary aim of this position is to assist the Nursing team in delivering seamless and effective services for patients throughout their treatment journey and follow-up care.
Ideal candidates will possess outstanding communication abilities and demonstrate effectiveness in collaborating with both clinical and non-clinical personnel, adopting a flexible and patient-centered approach. Empathy towards this sensitive patient demographic is essential.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a vital role in supporting the Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team by managing administrative tasks, which include:
- Responding to inquiries from healthcare professionals and patients.
- Prioritizing and directing calls to the appropriate services or Clinical Nurse Specialists.
- Scheduling appointments and processing referrals as necessary.
- Contributing to the implementation of the recovery package, including assisting the nursing team with holistic needs assessments and follow-up actions that do not require Clinical Nurse Specialist intervention.
- Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialist and aiding in the management of the associated workload.
- Guiding patients towards relevant support services while demonstrating compassion and understanding towards patients and their families.
As a member of the Clinical Nurse Specialist team, you will collaborate with various members of the multi-disciplinary team, referring patients to external agencies as appropriate and advising them on local support services.
