Role Overview

The Para Medical Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the England Para Football Programme through a variety of administrative and secretarial responsibilities, specifically aimed at assisting the medical and classification teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure adequate medical staffing for training sessions and competitive events.
  • Draft and prepare letters, reports, and other documentation as requested by the medical and classification teams.
  • Facilitate both internal and external medical and physiotherapy referrals.
  • Coordinate with external entities such as hospitals and community services to guarantee optimal care for players.
  • Manage the scanning and processing of all incoming correspondence related to player health.
  • Input relevant clinic letters, reports, and data into the Patient Management Application (PMA) as necessary.
  • Handle appointment requests, including scheduling scans and surgeries.
  • Serve as the primary contact for players regarding upcoming medical appointments and follow-ups.
  • Act as the main liaison for Health Partners concerning the administration of insurance documentation.
  • Assist medical and classification personnel with various administrative tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all medical information and player health data.
  • Participate in and facilitate both clinical and non-clinical audits.
  • Proactively address communication barriers to enhance interactions with all stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate with players and, when appropriate, their families, adapting methods to suit individual needs and preferences.
  • Complete additional tasks as required to align with organizational priorities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of the organization's commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Minimum of GCSE level education or equivalent.
  • GCSE in Mathematics and English (grade C or above).
  • Experience in administrative roles, particularly within a healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication skills and basic project management abilities.
  • Proficient in report writing and IT skills, including audio typing.
  • Effective time management capabilities.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Audio transcription Level 2.
  • Understanding of elite sports, football, and working with individuals with disabilities.
