Role Summary:

As a Financial Investigation Officer, your primary duties will encompass:

  • Providing guidance and support to newly appointed trainee Financial Investigators (FIs) as well as seasoned FIs throughout their accreditation journey.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of investigative skills and resources to empower FIs in effectively leveraging legislation against organized immigration crime, while identifying and recovering criminal finances, asset movements, and resources linked to this threat.
  • Facilitating the establishment of a robust investigative framework ensuring that every Criminal Investigation team has access to a qualified financial investigation expert.
  • Enhancing our capabilities to utilize financial data and intelligence, thereby strengthening the evidence base necessary for prosecuting Organized Crime Groups.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in conducting financial investigations in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, including areas such as money laundering, asset restraint, confiscation, and cash order investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft legal summaries and statements for both criminal and civil cases, along with experience in providing testimony in court.
  • Expertise in analyzing intricate financial data and presenting it in a format suitable for legal proceedings, including the preparation and submission of Financial Orders.
  • Familiarity with the application of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 within criminal investigation contexts.
