Role Responsibilities:
As a Financial Investigation Officer, your key duties will include:
- Guiding and mentoring newly appointed trainee Financial Investigators, as well as seasoned professionals, throughout the accreditation journey.
- Enhancing investigative skills and capabilities to empower Financial Investigators in effectively utilizing legislation to combat organized immigration crime, and to trace and recover criminal finances, asset movements, and resources linked to this threat.
- Building investigative capacity to ensure that every Criminal Investigation team has access to a local, fully trained financial investigation resource.
- Developing investigative competencies to leverage financial data and intelligence, thereby supporting the evidence required for prosecuting Organized Crime Groups.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven experience in conducting financial investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, including areas such as money laundering, asset restraint, confiscation, and cash seizure investigations.
- Experience in drafting legal summaries and statements for both criminal and civil cases, along with providing testimony in court.
- Expertise in analyzing intricate financial data, including its presentation in an evidential format suitable for court proceedings, and managing the completion and service of Financial Orders.
- Demonstrated experience in applying the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 within criminal investigations.
