Role Summary:

As a Financial Investigation Officer, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Guiding and supporting newly appointed trainee Financial Investigators, as well as experienced colleagues, throughout the accreditation journey.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of investigative skills and resources, enabling Financial Investigators to effectively apply legislation against organized immigration crime and to identify and recover associated criminal finances, asset movements, and resources.
  • Facilitating the development of investigative resources, ensuring that every Criminal Investigation team has access to a qualified financial investigation expert.
  • Enhancing investigative capabilities to leverage financial data and intelligence, thereby strengthening the evidence required for prosecuting Organized Crime Groups.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in conducting financial investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, including money laundering, asset restraint, confiscation, and cash and account freezing order investigations.
  • Experience in drafting legal summaries and statements for both criminal and civil cases, with a history of providing evidence in court.
  • Ability to analyze intricate financial data and present findings in a format suitable for legal proceedings, including the preparation and service of Financial Orders.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 within criminal investigations.
