Role Summary:

As a Financial Investigation Officer, your key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Providing guidance and support to newly appointed trainee Financial Investigators, as well as assisting experienced investigators throughout their accreditation journey.
  • Enhancing investigative skills and resources to empower Financial Investigators in utilizing legislation to combat organized immigration crime, while identifying and recovering illicit financial assets and movements linked to this threat.
  • Developing investigative resources to ensure that every Criminal Investigation team has access to a trained financial investigation professional.
  • Strengthening investigative capabilities to effectively leverage financial data and intelligence, thereby supporting the evidence required for prosecuting Organized Crime Groups.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in conducting financial investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, including areas such as money laundering, asset restraint, confiscation, and cash seizure investigations.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft comprehensive summaries and statements for both criminal and civil proceedings, with experience in providing evidence in court.
  • Expertise in analyzing intricate financial data and presenting it in a format suitable for legal proceedings, including the preparation and service of Financial Orders.
  • In-depth knowledge of applying the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 within criminal investigations.
