Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Composite Design Engineer to join our team of experts in Vehicle Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-performance designs that meet the needs of our racing cars.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Principal / Senior Engineers and Program Managers to define deliverables and project scope, ensuring all requirements are met.

  • Proactively address faults, manufacturing queries / feedback, NCR's and other related departmental tasks.

  • Take ownership of key aspects of the Vehicle Design Vision, Goals and Strategy to create a best-in-industry high-performance design team.

  • Contribute to Research and Development projects within the department.

  • Be the Technical authority for their project when the Principal / Senior Engineers are not present.

  • Deputise for Senior Engineers; if requested and reporting back to peers and project groups (Faults, Design Reviews etc.).

  • Develop and maintain advanced and reliable design solutions with supporting calculations and unambiguous engineering drawings.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, innovative and capable of working generally unsupervised to challenging deadlines.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to support the wider organisation - Manufacturing, Quality, Prototype and Test, Trackside etc.

  • Degree-level qualified in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or other related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry.

  • Proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.

  • Good CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.

  • Passion for engineering, innovation and detailed design work.
