Job Summary:

Astral Legal have partnered with a global Insurance business to find a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our client's established legal function in London. As a trusted advisor to the business, you will handle a variety of Insurance work, including projects, distribution contracts, underwriting wordings, reinsurance, service contracts, regulatory and compliance support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on and coordinate the provision of advice on (re)insurance law issues, including wordings, delegation and distribution contracts.
  • Support the Compliance team on regulatory and sanctions matters.
  • Work with the Underwriting team and global based lawyers on legal matters.
  • Maintain wordings and processes in accordance with group wide policies.
  • Advise the business on legal risks and support the business accordingly on training and support on new regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Lawyer with an insurance background in either In-House or Private Practice.
  • Background and specialisation in insurance law.
  • Good understanding and experience working with the insurance industry.
