Job Description

Job Title: Stress Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our Structural Analysis Team at our state-of-the-art campus in Northamptonshire. As a Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting structural analysis of components and assemblies, using finite element methods and hand calculations, to find the most mass-efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural analysis of components and assemblies using finite element methods and hand calculations
  • Develop and implement design optimization techniques to improve structural performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver optimum solutions to the track
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our design and development processes

Requirements:

  • Engineering Degree (min 2:1 grade)
  • Experience working within a structural analysis team, in an Automotive or similar field
  • Good understanding of analysis of composites and metallic materials using a mixture of FEA and hand calculations
  • Strong working knowledge of Altair HyperWorks and Catia V5/V6 (or similar industry-standard software)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Calm and considered approach to design & development in pressurised environments
