We are in search of a Technical Team Lead to oversee the group responsible for enhancing the quality and user-friendliness of the UW Cashback card in daily scenarios, while also equipping our Financial Services Specialists with robust functionalities that streamline their tasks, enabling them to better assist our clients.

The Cashback Card Team (CBC) is dedicated to transforming our prepaid cashback card into an essential and rewarding resource for over 250,000 customers, while encouraging others to join. The team's focus is on enhancing the usability and convenience of the card, ensuring it becomes an effortless asset in every customer's wallet. The card offers significant cashback opportunities at a wide range of retail partners (M&S, Boots, Argos, Primark, and more). Central to their mission is the commitment to delivering high-performing mobile and web applications that streamline the customer experience and maximize savings.

Your Contributions. What you will do and how you will make a difference.

As a Technical Team Lead, you will lead the Cashback Card engineering team, whose goal is to enhance the customer experience of using the cashback card by implementing innovative solutions. While you will still engage in coding, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the productivity and quality of the team's work, support the growth and well-being of your team members, identify and resolve bottlenecks in team processes, and eliminate obstacles to current deliverables. You will also collaborate closely with the Product lead to manage project scope and ensure the team meets technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering and Technical Oversight Ensure individual contributions within the role are off the critical path. Maintain high standards for the team's output. Comprehend complex problem domains. Possess a solid understanding of event-driven microservice architectures. Delivery Management Oversee the team's delivery and workload, ensuring the team produces high-quality, valuable work at a sustainable pace. Implement agile practices and foster continuous improvement within the team. Leadership Serve as a leader and stakeholder for the technical roadmap of the Cashback card product. Provide visibility to the team regarding upcoming work; broaden the team's backlog; introduce relevant broader context. Strive to develop engineers within the team and assist them in reaching their next level. Team Management Establish positive habits and create a productive rhythm for the team. Conduct effective meetings and ensure all team members have the opportunity to share their insights. Provide one-on-one coaching and line management. Identify high and low performers, skill gaps, and headcount needs for the team. Ensure necessary conversations occur with the appropriate individuals involved. Maintain awareness of team dynamics and personal factors.
