Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Safety Manager to lead our Patient Safety activities with strategic direction, visionary leadership, and the development of effective frameworks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Trust's Patient Safety activities, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Develop and maintain proactive and effective working relationships with Non-Executive Directors, Executive Directors, Commissioners, staff at all levels within the Trust, and other local health organisations.
  • Be a visible and accessible leader, providing essential support and guidance to healthcare professionals, managers, and staff, ensuring patient safety remains at the forefront of our operations.
  • Oversee the Trust's Serious Incidents requiring investigation process, ensuring a coordinated, systematic, transparent, and focused approach.
  • Manage the Learning from Mortality process, ensuring the Trust learns from every incident.
  • Lead the Duty of Candour process, promoting transparency and honesty in patient care.
  • Oversee the National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide and external reviews, including Domestic Homicide Reviews.
  • Manage the staff within the Patient Safety function, fostering a supportive and effective team environment.
