Position Overview

The Execution Solutions Architect is a key member of the Defense and Security (D&S) International Solutions division, which comprises specialists in training development dedicated to crafting comprehensive solutions utilized by defense and paramilitary organizations globally. These solutions harness CAE's fundamental simulation technologies alongside premier instructional methodologies and tools. The intended user base encompasses air, naval, and land forces sectors.

The primary focus and objective of the Execution Solutions Architect, assigned to various projects, is to cultivate new business through the formal Capture process while effectively contributing as a member of the Capture Team, in collaboration with Integrated Solution Leads and Commercial Leads.

Execution Solutions Architects, akin to other core Capture Team members, are responsible for securing new business with solutions tailored to fulfill customer needs and financial constraints. Concurrently, they must guarantee that the offering can be executed and delivered profitably, on time, in the most efficient manner, with adequate commercial and programmatic safeguards to minimize scope creep, subjective misunderstandings, and mitigate risks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist and adhere to the D&S Lead to Award (L2A) business development framework from the initial stages of customer engagement (pre-RFP), through the Capture and Proposal phases, culminating in contract award for any given opportunity across the CAE D&S International regions. Follow established best practices and knowledge resources for Execution Solutions Architects, including guides, tools, and templates. Support a global Community of Practice network to exchange information and lessons learned among Execution Solutions Architects. The daily responsibilities of the Execution Solutions Architect include solution development and validation tasks on active projects, which encompass the following deliverables: Formulate a successful execution strategy based on the opportunity Capture Plan Oversee the preparation of an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) Direct the creation, consolidation, and validation of Risk and Opportunity registers Lead the development of an Assumption, Dependency, and Exclusion register Supervise the creation and validation of the proposal Management volume, including Project Management Plans, Risk Management Plans, and/or Statements of Work (SOW) Ensure that supplier/partner workshare includes appropriate SOWs and technical requirements documentation Guide the definition of comprehensive Transition Plans and post-delivery Sustainment Plans Prepare Milestone Payment Plans to ensure financial neutrality of programs Develop Export Control plans to facilitate the transfer and reuse of controlled technical data and components Conduct Solution Reviews and Design-to-Win assessments Engage with customers and end-users to present solutions

Required skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or a related field Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant program management leadership experience in industry and/or military service, with 3-5 years concentrated on the development and/or delivery of training programs in an operational and/or maintenance context for the defense sector Relevant experience leading medium to large-scale development, training integration, or engineering projects with significant levels of risk/uncertainty PMP certification or equivalent is considered an asset Previous experience with new business capture and proposal processes for large custom programs is highly desirable Strong ability to devise capture strategies for new business, leveraging winning themes and differentiators is a definite asset Familiarity with CAE's products and training solutions, including modeling and simulation capabilities, is considered a definite asset Relevant training/mentoring experience and skills are an asset Excellent oral and written communication, as well as presentation skills Proficiency in both English and French is considered an asset Strong interpersonal skills and a problem-solving mindset Good business acumen and political savvy are highly desirable Ability to obtain a NATO SECRET security clearance
