Long Eaton, Derbyshire, United Kingdom Longhurst Group Full time

Position Overview

Are you a dedicated individual with a passion for enhancing the lives of others? If you thrive in a supportive environment and are eager to contribute to a community-focused organization, the role of Community Living Coordinator at Longhurst Group may be an ideal fit for you.

Longhurst Group is a prominent housing organization operating throughout the Midlands and East of England, dedicated to fostering vibrant communities and improving the quality of life for both our staff and clients. Our mission is to deliver quality, safe, and affordable housing that lays the groundwork for our residents' well-being, with our Homeownership team playing a vital role in supporting our elderly leasehold residents in maintaining their independence.

As a Community Living Coordinator, you will oversee the management of our residential scheme, which consists of 29 bungalows, ensuring that our residents can enjoy their chosen lifestyle while receiving personalized and localized support. Key responsibilities include:

  • Efficiently managing the scheme to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
  • Supporting the well-being of residents to promote independent living, while providing a calm and responsive approach during emergencies.
  • Overseeing service delivery with a focus on housing management and maintenance concerns.
  • Fostering a sense of community by organizing regular social events and activities for residents.
  • Encouraging effective communication between residents, their families, Longhurst Group, and our approved service providers.

This position is a residential role, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. As part of this role, you will reside in a two-bedroom bungalow with separate working facilities, ensuring you are close to the scheme. The residential area is beautifully landscaped and conveniently located for easy access to local amenities and public transport.

To excel in the role of Community Living Coordinator, you should possess a customer-oriented background and the ability to engage effectively with residents, along with basic digital skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).

Joining Longhurst Group at this pivotal time offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolving landscape of the Social Housing sector, where new measures and standards are being implemented. This role will empower residents and support their journey towards independent living. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive workplace that values your contributions, along with access to ongoing professional development opportunities to keep your skills at the forefront of the industry.
