Clinical Research Nurse Specialist

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated nurse with a background in caring for patients undergoing surgical procedures to become a vital member of our expanding Digestive Diseases Research Team.
As part of our research delivery team, you will support patients undergoing both upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeries involved in various clinical trials. Your responsibilities will include the recruitment, education, and monitoring of research participants, as well as conducting clinical assessments and ensuring the precise collection and documentation of research data.

Main Responsibilities
As a member of our dynamic research delivery team, you will provide support for clinical trials and research studies focused on surgical patients. Your duties will encompass:
- Recruiting, educating, and monitoring surgical research participants.
- Collecting and documenting accurate trial data.
- Assisting medical staff with patient recruitment and consent processes.
- Serving as a point of contact for patients and their families during their participation in studies.
In addition to clinic or ward-based responsibilities, you will engage in data collection while adhering to Good Clinical Practice and research governance guidelines, ensuring the safety and well-being of research participants throughout their trial experience.

Qualifications and Skills
Essential Skills:
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Willingness to develop new skills.
- Proficient in computer use.
Experience:
- Minimum of two years post-registration experience in the NHS or a similar environment.
- Experience in conducting research trials and/or surgical experience.
- Experience supporting junior staff in a professional setting.
Knowledge:
- General understanding of health research within the NHS.
- Familiarity with surgical patient pathways.
Qualifications:
- Registered General Nurse.
