About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Digital to join our team at News UK. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving our digital strategy and ensuring our online presence is engaging, informative, and meets the needs of our diverse audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of our digital strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital content.
  • Collaborate with editorial colleagues across our integrated newsroom to develop fresh lines and maximize traffic and dwell time.
  • Manage the online news operation, audience teams, and audio/video departments, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.
  • Work closely with internal departments, including commercial and marketing, to develop and implement commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives.
  • Interpret analytics to report to colleagues and the wider business on a regular basis, informing data-driven decisions and driving business growth.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with online, audience, sport, tech, and video teams across News Corp, identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing and leading high-performance teams in a fast-paced national news platform environment.
  • Expertise in SEO, social media, and digital news delivery, with a deep understanding of emerging platforms and trends.
  • Strong knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data, implementing new strategies to drive business growth.
  • Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends, and audience behaviors, with a focus on creating engaging and informative content.
  • Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives, with a strong understanding of News UK's DNA and how it translates to digital platforms.
  • Fully aware of legal issues, the Editors' Code of Practice, and IPSO standards, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
