We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Elective Booking & Scheduling Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As an Elective Booking Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing waiting lists for elective surgery and working in accordance with Government Access targets to ensure patients are treated in line with Trust Access policies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the waiting list of a group of consultants, ensuring timely and efficient processing of patient referrals.
- Monitor the waiting list and work list daily to ensure Government Access Targets are not breached.
- Coordinate admission and associated pre-operative assessment clinics, ensuring smooth patient flow and minimizing delays.
- Act as a named contact point, liaising with patients and relatives, as well as medical representatives, to provide excellent customer service and support.
- Deal with enquiries from all service users in a helpful, courteous, and diplomatic manner, ensuring patient confidentiality is always maintained.
- Ensure compliance with a range of Trust policies, including Health & Safety, Infection Control, and Data Protection.
- Provide advice to patients in matters relating to admission (pre-and post-operative guidance etc.) and about their position on the waiting list.
- Assist in the training of new members of staff in the department, as required.
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and medical terminology.
- Experience working in a patient/customer-focused environment, with a minimum of one year experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in an environment where demands and priorities change quickly.
