SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT ENGINEER

Salary:

Zodiac Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent organization in the realm of Surface Water Management (SWM), recognized for influencing the discourse on integrating drainage into green-blue infrastructure and comprehensive planning.


As a member of their drainage division, you will join a diverse team with a nationwide focus, engaging with various stakeholders, including utility companies, municipal authorities, transportation agencies, and developers on significant projects. You will contribute to the creation of innovative digital solutions for clients.

In this role, you will have the chance to participate in the advancement of digital methodologies to improve the engineering design workflow. You will collaborate closely with specialists in this domain and may evolve into the regional expert for Surface Water Management and Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS), offering technical guidance and engaging with key stakeholders.


The ideal candidate will possess experience in drainage and SuDS, along with a strong interest in planning, ecology, landscape architecture, environmental economics, and management, as well as digital tools aimed at enhancing living environments and promoting environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design drainage systems, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SUDS).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling software, preferably MicroDrainage and/or Civils 3D, along with a solid understanding of CDM Regulations.
  • Familiarity with BIM and digital design processes is advantageous.
  • Exhibit a proven history of coordinating and delivering technically sound projects within budget and on schedule, with experience in a Design & Build context on multi-disciplinary initiatives.
  • Produce comprehensive drainage infrastructure design packages, assist in developing drainage solutions, and coordinate with other disciplines and site teams.
  • Ensure adherence to CDM Regulations and safety/environmental standards, prepare and deliver technical presentations to showcase SUDS expertise to a diverse client base, and draft financial and technical proposals for project opportunities.
