About the Role:
As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of groundwater management within the South West Water region. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our water services are delivered sustainably and efficiently, supporting the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term groundwater strategy, ensuring its alignment with water resource planning and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in strategic planning processes, collaborating with various stakeholders to explore future supply options and manage regulatory interactions effectively.
- Assess and mitigate future groundwater output and quality risks, conducting thorough risk assessments and aligning remediation efforts with industry standards.
- Provide specialized knowledge and operational support to address groundwater quality and yield challenges, assisting hydrogeologists and internal teams.
- Design and oversee groundwater studies, manage asset plans, and serve as a technical sponsor for capital maintenance initiatives to enhance water resource utilization.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and external partners, offering expert guidance and developing innovative solutions to water resource challenges, including assessments and forecasting groundwater availability.
Qualifications:
- MSc in Hydrogeology, with a preference for professional membership in relevant organizations (e.g., Geological Society, CIWEM).
- In-depth knowledge of drinking water service asset operations and UK water regulations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for interpreting complex data and conveying findings effectively.
- Proven ability to foster collaboration across teams and build relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Full UK driving license.
This position offers a competitive salary range of £47,500 to £54,500 along with an attractive benefits package, including:
