London, Greater London, United Kingdom Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust Full time
Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist psychological provision to children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental profiles, including social communication difficulties, early childhood epilepsy, and other rare disorders.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will participate in multidisciplinary evaluation, diagnosis, support planning, and psycho-education. They will also have opportunities for professional development and involvement in research. The post holder will join a large group of psychologists working across neurodevelopmental specialty teams within the Trust, and will have access to the learning and opportunities that come with being part of a wider psychology service at a leading children's hospital.

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time (30 hours/week) position. The successful candidate will be appointed at either Band 8a or Band 7, depending on their level of experience. The Band 7 post will be a development post, with a structured competency framework to support the post holder to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence to fulfill their role.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including clinical psychometrics, neuropsychology, and lifespan developmental psychology. They will also have experience of working as a qualified psychologist, and of representing clinical psychology in the context of multidisciplinary care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legislation in relation to children and young people, and of working in a multicultural framework and promoting anti-racism and inclusive practice.
