Hillingdon Older People's Mental Health Services is seeking a highly motivated and innovative HCPC registered Senior Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work across two service areas: our Memory Service and Oak Tree Ward, our Older Adult acute mental health unit.

About the Role

We are looking for a psychologist who is passionate about working with older adults and people living with dementia. As a Senior Clinical Psychologist, you will provide a highly specialist psychology service to people accessing Hillingdon OPMH services, including specialist assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, and monitoring of outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in the mental health care of older people and people living with dementia.
  • Work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct, and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
  • Assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans.
  • Be responsible for the allocation and/or clinical supervision of the work of more junior psychologists with support from a more senior psychologist.
  • Implement policies and procedures in own area of work, and propose improvements or beneficial changes.
  • Receive regular clinical and professional supervision from a more senior psychologist according to HCPC and Trust guidelines.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current developments in professional and clinical practice and of relevant legislation and policies.
What We Offer

We offer a supportive and fully structured learning environment, with opportunities for development, learning, and training. You will have access to high-quality supervision, a generous annual leave allowance, and a generous NHS pension. We also offer a relocation package (subject to eligibility assessment) and flexible working options, including bank assignments for most roles.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a HCPC registered psychologist with experience working with older adults and people living with dementia. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
