Insurance Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Officer to join our Finance Operational Services Team at Worcestershire County Council. As an Insurance Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the provision of in-house insurance, providing claims guidance and support to the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Insurance Manager to deliver the insurance programme while successfully managing your own caseload of cases.
  • Manage a caseload of insurance claims in conjunction with the Council's insurance providers and be responsible for the recording, processing, and internal investigation of all insurance claims made against the Council.
  • Manage a caseload of insurance claims not handled by insurance providers, including Public Liability, Motor, and Property claims.
  • Maintain a computerised claims management system and process all third-party insurance claim correspondence.
  • Liaise with colleagues at all levels within the Council in relation to claims investigation and handling processes.
  • Be responsible for the payment of claims within the Council's policy excesses and the associated claims-related invoices.
  • Assist in the provision of evidence of insurance cover as required.
