Oxford Instruments is in search of a seasoned expert to take on the role of Global Trade Operations Manager. This position involves managing all facets of international shipping and logistics, acting as the main liaison for the export of products beyond the UK.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate shipping requests and associated documentation.
  • Educate team members on international shipping protocols to ensure adherence to regulations.
  • Update and maintain shipping records in the Information Management System.
  • Compile all essential shipping documentation and financial presentation materials.
  • Engage with clients and Freight Forwarders to ensure prompt delivery of goods.
  • Negotiate competitive rates with logistics providers while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Uphold departmental guidelines and quality assurance documentation.
  • Monitor and report on departmental performance metrics.
  • Administer export compliance and control, including the application for necessary export permits.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Background in advanced technology and capital goods sectors.
  • Understanding of UK & EU Export Control laws as well as US EAR & ITAR regulations.
  • Experience with the SPIRE system for managing export licenses.
  • Proficient in handling shipping requests and customer relations.
  • Skilled in various software applications and team leadership.
