Job Purpose
Burberry Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Knitwear Product Development Specialist to join its team. As a key member of the product development team, you will play a critical role in bringing design concepts to life through meticulous planning, execution, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert and mentor for the Knitwear team, providing guidance on construction, fabric properties, and garment manufacturing.
- Collaborate with designers from concept to final product, ensuring alignment with design vision and aesthetic standards.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Design, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Manage critical paths and lead times to ensure efficient production and meet business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate changes while protecting design integrity and quality standards.
- Calculate costs for prototypes and samples, ensuring products meet quality, cost, and margin targets.
- Oversee the development process from concept to pre-production, resolving issues and adhering to timelines.
Personal Profile
- Proven experience in product development, preferably in the luxury fashion industry.
- Essential prior experience in people management and leadership.
- Strong technical knowledge of knitwear, fabric construction, pattern cutting, and raw materials.
- Expertise in new techniques and factory operations, including machinery and pattern rooms.
- Commercially aware with strong business acumen, balancing creativity and cost management.
- Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and fluent in English.
