Inside Sales Representative

The perfect candidate is a skilled relationship builder with a genuine enthusiasm for sales.

Responsible for promoting and selling consumables and instruments through various channels such as phone, email, and social selling platforms to targeted customers and prospects as designated by management. Employs a mix of sales techniques and tools to meet objectives. Must be organized, self-motivated, and adept at using telephone sales skills to establish customer rapport and cultivate consultative sales relationships. Capable of working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team, fulfilling administrative responsibilities, and documenting all activities in the CRM system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales

  • Achieve or surpass set sales targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within specified market segments
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities in the CRM system
  • Prepare quotations and pricing agreements in accordance with pricing policies
  • Engage in necessary training sessions to enhance product knowledge
  • Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure comprehensive customer service and enhance value selling opportunities

Customer Support

  • Coordinate with internal support teams on customer inquiries regarding issues and application questions
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of all inquiries

General Responsibilities

  • Conduct effective online demonstrations
  • Utilize all features of the CRM software system
  • Maintain and enhance technical knowledge to assist customers
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A degree in Life Sciences or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience

Experience

  • Prior experience in outbound phone sales with defined sales goals
  • At least 2 years of sales or inside sales experience in a related industry is preferred
  • Experience in a life science laboratory setting is advantageous

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in computer applications is required
  • Fluency in CRM usage for daily operations, including data entry and maintenance
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, and technical regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Capability to write business correspondence and reports
  • Confident and persuasive phone presence
  • Ability to perform calculations including discounts, percentages, and volumes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comprehensive selling skills and techniques, including negotiation
  • Ability to work independently is essential

Additional Requirements

  • Fluency in business English and French is required
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle are necessary
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% of the time
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality are expected
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in the workplace

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in selling capital equipment
  • Laboratory experience using pipettes
