Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, United Kingdom Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service Full time

Job Overview

About the Position:

Are you eager to embark on a career in the criminal justice field? This is a remarkable opportunity for permanent employment within an administrative capacity that initiates with a Modern Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship serves as an ideal entry point for individuals who have recently completed their education, are contemplating their first career move, or are seeking a transition into business administration.

During the initial 18-20 months, you will work towards obtaining your SVQ in Business Administration Level 3 (SCQF Level 6) while also achieving an industry-specific enhancement qualification. You will have the chance to collaborate with various teams throughout the organization, working from one of the offices with some flexibility for remote work. Team sizes will vary, allowing you to engage with both new and seasoned colleagues at all levels, from administrative staff to Senior Managers.

Our administrative staff, referred to as Fiscal Officers, play a vital role in facilitating the legal prosecution process in Scotland. Upon joining us, you will undergo a comprehensive induction that provides an extensive overview of the apprenticeship program, followed by a focus on the specific responsibilities you will undertake in the local office in an administrative capacity. Throughout the two-year period, you will participate in a variety of workshops and training sessions, interacting with assessors and fellow apprentices to refine your skills and competencies, thereby supporting your ability to meet the program's objectives. This ongoing education will be complemented by practical on-the-job experience as agreed upon with your Line Manager.

You will receive support at every phase of your apprenticeship, with regular meetings with your Line Manager who will identify relevant opportunities for you to demonstrate the skills necessary for progressing through your course units. This relationship will be collaborative, involving meetings with SQA Assessors to provide positive evidence of your accomplishments. You will also be allocated time away from your desk to focus solely on the SVQ or enhancement work, which should equate to 1 hour per week for the SVQ, along with additional hours for the enhancement. Interaction with Skills Development Scotland and the Scottish Qualification Authority may also occur as part of their monitoring processes.

Additional Information:

This position is a permanent role contingent upon the successful completion of the Modern Apprenticeship program.
