Oncology Pathway Coordinator

Peterborough, Peterborough, United Kingdom North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive individual to join our team as an Oncology Pathway Coordinator. The main objective of this position is to oversee the management of the Head and Neck cancer Patient Tracking List (PTL) by effectively coordinating the cancer pathway, monitoring, reporting, and tracking patients diagnosed with cancer, while ensuring that all pertinent information is accurately recorded in the Cancer database.

If you possess strong attention to detail, exceptional organisational abilities, and a commitment to enhancing cancer patient care, we invite you to consider this opportunity. Become a part of our team and contribute positively to the experiences of patients navigating their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities

As an Oncology Pathway Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative personnel, as well as other health and social care providers, to manage the inter-trust cancer pathway. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, reporting, and tracking cancer patients to ensure their journeys are processed efficiently and in accordance with established Best Practice Pathways and National Cancer Waiting Times Targets.
  • Promptly addressing any delays in the pathway and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Assisting the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordination Team by providing administrative support to the cancer S/LMDTs, ensuring that all required documentation and clinical information is readily available.
  • Attending MDT meetings to document attendance and outcomes, ensuring seamless transfer of patients and information between trusts.

Data collection and analysis are vital components of this role. You will be responsible for collecting data prospectively using the Somerset Cancer Register data collection system, maintaining accuracy, and analysing target breaches, with findings reported to the Cancer Performance Manager and Lead MDT clinician.

About Our Organisation

We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within our workforce and warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, as well as candidates from our local area.
