Job Description

To ensure the integrity and effectiveness of Barclays' internal control framework, we are seeking a skilled professional to assess and mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risk.

Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the bank to improve control effectiveness, identify potential weaknesses, and develop reports to communicate key findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to improve overall control effectiveness.
  • Identify and investigate potential weaknesses in internal controls.
  • Develop reports to communicate key findings to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
  • Execute reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework.
Assistant Vice President Expectations
  • Consult on complex issues and provide advice to People Leaders.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to keep up to speed with business activity and strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information to stakeholders.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
