As a Senior Quantity Surveyor within our Decommissioning and Waste Services (DWS) division, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing significant nuclear decommissioning projects. You will lead teams and collaborate with colleagues, clients, stakeholders, and contractors, while also having the opportunity to mentor junior staff and advance your career.

About Our Division:
DWS is a growing team of over 250 professionals, supported by a robust supply chain, generating more than £40 million in revenue through various decommissioning and waste management contracts. As our scope expands, we are seeking to enhance our commercial function to support our diverse portfolio.

This role is essential to the DWS Commercial Team, acting as a key liaison for our joint venture partners and clients.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support cross-disciplinary teams within the DWS division to foster a progressive and sustainable commercial environment.
  • Manage and coordinate approximately £60 million annually in contractual expenditures, including comprehensive reporting of organizational financial data.
  • Develop and implement innovative tools to enhance operational efficiency, including exploring Artificial Intelligence and Process Automation solutions.
  • Exhibit commercial leadership across various clients and supply chain partners, focusing on optimizing contract delivery and resolving contractual nuances.
  • Oversee client commercial interactions, including managing Early Warnings, Variations, and conflict resolution processes.
  • Coordinate procurement strategies, including tendering and negotiation of key Framework Agreements, with a focus on supporting Small and Medium Enterprises.
  • Contribute to the Social Value agenda from a commercial perspective.
  • Enhance client satisfaction and company margins through effective delivery and collaborative practices.
  • Work alongside Project Management and Project Controls teams throughout the project lifecycle to develop an integrated commercial approach.
What You Bring:
  • Extensive knowledge of contractual frameworks, particularly in managing contractor payment processes.
  • Proven collaborative skills, with awareness of ISO44001:2017 principles.
  • Experience with online contract management systems.
  • Understanding of commercial risk management and associated strategies.
  • Expertise in selecting and utilizing various contract options effectively.
  • Capability in programme monitoring and reporting, including basic evaluation of construction timelines.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Professional Status is preferred.
