Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Facilities Helpdesk to oversee Patient Transport operations.

This role involves assisting the Transport & Helpdesk Manager in the seamless functioning of the transport network, ensuring effective support for both inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficient in utilizing IT systems, including Windows-based applications and communication tools.
  • Maintain awareness of quality standards and protocols.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and operational procedures.
  • Ability to navigate complex systems such as Cleric and Apex.
  • Understanding of medical terminology is essential.
  • Demonstrate excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adapt to dynamic environments where decisions are influenced by various factors.
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Maintain composure under pressure.
  • Capable of delegating tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate logging of patient transport details to maintain proper records.
  • Utilize Trust systems to track patients and verify information.
  • Confirm the relevance of patient appointments through system checks.
  • Monitor and reduce abortive journeys in collaboration with the Line Manager.
  • In the absence of the contracted transport provider, prepare daily discharge logs.
  • Arrange taxi services as per transport policies.
  • Coordinate courier services for both hospital and community sites.
  • Possess knowledge of logistics in the surrounding areas.
  • Report maintenance issues and faults as necessary.
