Position Overview:

Child sexual exploitation and abuse (CSEA) represents a significant global challenge necessitating a coordinated response. The absence of reliable and comprehensive data on CSEA hampers the development of effective prevention and intervention strategies. Childlight, an initiative integrated within the University of Edinburgh, aims to adopt a data-driven, evidence-based methodology to enhance understanding of the prevalence and characteristics of CSEA worldwide. The insights gained will inform policymakers and practitioners globally, enabling them to make informed decisions to protect children from CSEA.

The Administrative Officer plays a crucial role in delivering high-level professional and administrative assistance to the Office Manager, the Director of Data, and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). This position is vital for ensuring efficient management of their schedules and addressing inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders promptly and appropriately. Additionally, you will extend administrative support to the broader team, which includes tasks such as documenting notes/minutes, formulating agendas, coordinating staff travel and accommodations, and collaborating with internal teams such as facilities and IT to ensure the office operates smoothly.

Key Skills and Attributes for Success:

  1. Strong administrative capabilities, including relevant IT proficiency and experience in preparing minutes and reports.
  2. Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, demonstrating courtesy and friendliness in interactions with all partners.
  3. Experience in supporting senior-level personnel (including diary management and travel coordination) and committees is desirable.
  4. Adaptable approach with outstanding organizational and time management skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail.
  5. Ability to thrive as a team member while managing pressure effectively.
