Senior Technical Support Specialist

As a Senior Technical Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advanced technical assistance to our clients, ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of their IT systems.
  • Collaborating closely with clients to diagnose and resolve technical challenges, manage IT infrastructure, and deliver proactive support.
  • Offering level 3 technical support through various channels, including phone, email, and remote access.
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying hardware, software, and network complications.
  • Overseeing and maintaining client IT infrastructure, which encompasses servers, workstations, and networking devices.
  • Installing, configuring, and updating software and hardware components as necessary.
  • Assisting in the execution and management of client IT initiatives.
  • Documenting technical processes, configurations, and support interactions for future reference.
  • Working in conjunction with other IT professionals to ensure efficient and effective support delivery.
  • Planning and implementing server and data migrations with minimal disruption.
  • Evaluating and applying upgrades and patches to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Quickly diagnosing and addressing server failures to minimize operational interruptions.
  • Setting up and configuring new servers, ensuring compliance with performance and security standards.
  • Conducting regular backups and testing recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Providing mentorship and training to junior support engineers to enhance their technical capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, ideally within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience in server administration, including Windows Server and Linux.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Office 365 and Azure.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and tools.
