The successful candidate will engage with the Trauma & Orthopaedics department and will report directly to the Service Delivery Manager. This role necessitates frequent travel across multiple hospital locations to provide support to clinical teams, clinical services, and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assisting the Service Delivery Manager in overseeing workforce management, waiting list administration, performance metrics, procurement, financial oversight, and quality assurance.
  • Actively participating in initiatives aimed at service enhancement and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess recent experience in a relevant management or leadership development program, along with a proven track record in a managerial capacity within the NHS. The ability to thrive in high-pressure environments and effectively prioritize competing demands is essential. A collaborative spirit and the capability to work alongside senior management and clinical personnel are crucial.

The individual in this role is expected to exhibit strong leadership qualities and foster productive relationships with clinicians, nursing staff, allied health professionals, administrative teams, and management across the Health Board and the broader NHS network.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is responsible for planning and delivering NHS healthcare services to the populations of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and surrounding areas. Qualifications & Knowledge

Essential:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Master's degree or evidence of continuous professional development at a master's level.

  • Thorough understanding of critical factors influencing healthcare provision, NHS strategies, local health economy challenges, and performance management frameworks.

Experience

  • Demonstrated managerial experience within the NHS.
