Job Overview

Enterprise Integration Architect

The position of the Enterprise Integration Architect involves crafting the integration and DevOps technology framework for the UK Firm. This role is pivotal in translating the integration strategy into a comprehensive roadmap that outlines our investment priorities and transformation initiatives. The strategy aims to ensure a seamless experience for both customers and employees by facilitating the efficient development and modification of effective and reusable integration components. Emphasis will be placed on leveraging modern, Cloud-based technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to support typical integration scenarios. The architect will also establish an operational model that meets business demands for integration design, development, testing, and deployment, while creating an integration catalogue that encourages the reuse of new technologies and targets the decommissioning of legacy integrations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of integration platforms, emerging technology trends, and the KPMG technology ecosystem. Key responsibilities include:

Core Knowledge
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of current and future technology market trends and their implications for the business.Develop and sustain expert knowledge of KPMG's technology ecosystem, including primary applications and technologies interacting with integration technologies.Provide guidance and seek insights from other Member Firms, client teams, or clients aiming to enhance their integration technology utilization.
Roadmaps & Solutions
Design and uphold the Integration & DevOps technology roadmaps and architecture for KPMG assets, collaborating with Capability CTOs and relevant business and technical SMEs.Create and refine documentation using architecture tools such as ARIS and Alfabet.Ensure alignment of Capability roadmaps with integration and cloud strategies, ensuring coherence with other technology domain roadmaps.Collaborate with Capability CTOs, technical SMEs, and specific projects to translate business requirements into feasible technical requirements.Ensure that Solution Architects deliver designs that are suitable, adhere to established standards and patterns, utilize reusable components, and align with broader KPMG technology domains.Contribute to the selection of specific integration technologies.Influence stakeholders to adopt appropriate technology solutions.Lead and facilitate the Data & Integration Design Authority (DIDA).Support the design and implementation of operational models that enhance the design and execution of successful integration deployments.Identify and escalate risks, issues, and critical dependencies to the appropriate leadership to ensure successful strategy delivery.
Technology Governance
Assist in establishing and participating in the technology assurance process, building reference models, and ensuring adherence to standards, patterns, and reusable components.Ensure the decommissioning of legacy technology to manage and mitigate technical debt.Support the selection and implementation of enterprise architecture tools that expedite and govern technology initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential (Integration)
Demonstrable expert knowledge of Azure Integration Services (AIS), including API Management, Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Key Vault, and Blob Storage.Proven knowledge of DevOps & IaC, including Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform, Azure Bicep/ARM, and Azure Policy.Familiarity with other leading Cloud-based integration platforms such as AWS Integration Services, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, and Informatica.Understanding of security considerations for integration and cloud technologies.Strong knowledge of integration and data architectures, API management, service buses, adapters, ETL operations, and data models.Experience in creating Integration Patterns and utilizing architecture tools.Proficiency in integration monitoring and alerting, including ticket automation in ServiceNow.Extensive experience in implementing integration platforms, including serving as a technical lead and chairing a design authority.Ability to design complex integration patterns and reusable components using various protocols and standards.
Essential (Other)
Experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.Understanding of common business analysis techniques and methodologies.Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.A high level of general technical knowledge, including awareness of current and emerging technology trends.Good understanding of project management principles, including risks, assumptions, and dependencies.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.Ability to leverage internal networks to access additional expertise as needed.Comfortable navigating ambiguity at project inception while providing clear direction.
Desirable
Experience in leading offshore teams.Practical knowledge of GDPR and ISO 27001.Qualifications in ITIL and TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework).Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
